Hydrogen Refueling Data Interface
Hydrogen Refueling Data Interface
The Hydrogen Refueling Data Interface (RDI) ensures reliable, fast and efficient refueling of hydrogen. It provides a hydrogen-fueled land vehicle with the ability to send data to a hydrogen refueling station via an infrared communication link during the refueling process. Information such as tank type, tank volume, measured pressure and temperature, etc., is transmitted unidirectionally from the vehicle to the station. The RDI system enables the station to fill the vehicle's hydrogen storage tank to the tank's nominal pressure in about three minutes, safely and without the temperature of the gas in the storage tank getting too hot.
HOERBIGER also offers customized solutions in the design of the RDI transmitter and for specific requirements for the electronic infrared control unit (RDI ECU).
